Necro Nation
It all started with a musicproject at school. Frits worked a couple of years as backstage crew and during the project of januari 2008, Peter and Joost also joined backstage. During a few breaks Frits and Peter got talking and found out they both liked metal. During that time Peter was already in a band with Joost, but they decided to try and form a new band. Almost automaticly Joost got involved and all they needed was a drummer. This was the first step in becoming the band we now know as Necro Nation.
After trying out lots of different metal styles they all agreed to keep playing thrash metal since this was the style they all liked the most. With influences like Metallica, Slayer, Megadeth and so on, they tried to put together some own material without succes.
After a while they found Rhys somewhere around september 2008. Back then he was a unexperienced drummer but immediatly the band saw potential in his skills. After a few months the band had their first rehearsal somewhere around januari 2009. The band already decided they would be called Necro Nation and it wasn't long or they finished their first song. The title track of the band: Necro Nation.
Going on like this, the band wrote more songs like Warzone and Trees of Glass. After a few weeks the band decided to keep the aggression and the speed in the songs and started to write new material under influences like The Scourger, Deathchain, Carnal Forge and other Death/Thrash metal bands. That's when it was time to bring the music to the people. After two performances Necro Nation was voted as one of the four best bands who played in Todo during 2009. They've been invited back for this occasion to play on the mainstage where they will play a bunch of new songs and off course the old ones.
